Strangeness and Charm

Just a quick outfit post today, with what I'm wearing to go over my boyfriends. May seem a little dressy to sit around and do nothing but my friend has had this grey blazer of mine for over a year and I am so happy to finally get it back, that I can't stop wearing it! Making up for lost time I guess.

Blue jeans: Primark   Top: Topshop   Blazer: Vintage   Hat: H&M   Shoes: Primark

I adore these Primark shoes, and they only cost a tenner! I've had to wear them around the house for a day though to wear them in as they were quite stiff when I got them. This hat I love as well but I have had it for so long now that it is ridiculously bent out of shape. I like it too much to not wear it anymore though.
I'll probably do another post at some point over the weekend as I am going to a small musical festival tomorrow in Newcastle with local bands. I'll let you knowhow it is. Should be good though, can't wait!
So until then, xo

Culinary Genious'

One thing I love almost as much as clothes is cooking and baking. I love making things from scratch, they taste so much nicer and you feel a lot better knowing exactly what has gone into it. It also helps when I'm bored. One thing me and Neil make on an almost weekly basis is pizza. We have an unhealthy addiction. But they just taste sooo good. We use a recipe which is probably about 30 years which we found on a yellowed piece of paper in his house. So I thought I would share it with all those pizza lovers out there.
Note, this recipe makes 2 LARGE pizzas. Or you could make 1 pizza and use the rest of the dough to make bread which we did on this occasion.
Also note that because this recipe is really old, its in ounces and not grams.

10oz Plain flour
1oz Butter
0.5oz Yeast (2 packets)
1/2 pint Warm water

Sieve the flour into a large bowl and rub in the butter until there are no lumps of it left.
Add the yeast and then the warm water.
Then get your hands really dirty and mix it together until it forms a dough.
Start kneading the dough on the table for 10 minutes, adding more plain flour until it isn't at all sticky.
Half the dough and roll out into a circle with a rolling pin.
Place it on a pizza tray and press it to the edges until it is a perfect circle. (Do this for both pizzas, obviously).

And now for the toppings! You can literally put anything on your pizza but there are a few things I would suggest as they make them delicious!

Squeeze as much tomato puree on your pizza as you would like and spread with a teaspoon.
Using a garlic crusher, crush 2 medium sized pieces of garlic on top of the puree and spread out.
Add as much cheese on your pizza as you like.
Place the topping of your choice on top of the cheese.
Mix up a herb oil in a tea cup. Put about 2cm worth of sunflower oil in the cup and add a generous amount of Italian herbs and mix. Then drizzle over your pizzas with a teaspoon.
It makes the top crispy and full of flavour.

On this occasion, we decided to make some bread along with the pizza. Mine are obviously the pretty plaits, and Neils are the lumps of bread...

If you do end up making a pizza this way, please let me know how it tastes!
Hope you like it! XOXO

Undertow

Last night I went to a gig in Newcastle to see Warpaint. If you haven't heard of them I suggest you check them out as they are really good. I was suprised by what they wore though. Combats, scruffy tshirts and beanie hats... They looked as though they didn't make any effort whatsoever and had just rolled out of bed. But it actually kind of worked.
I decided to do an outfit post of what I wore last night. I honestly spent no less than 2 hours trying to decide what to wear. Major remorse now, as I am currently having to tidy up my floordrobe! Honestly, clothes are everywhere! But I am quite glad I persevered  as I like what I eventually came up with: 2 dresses worn as 1.

Orange dress: H&M   Black dress: Primark   Belt: Ebay

I've had both dresses for a while now, and have worn them both quite a bit so I've never been that inclined to wear either of them anymore. But they look like completely different items like this so I am happy.
I'm off to finish my tidying, oh the joys! And then try to find somewhere online that will let me watch Geordie Shore. It has brought shame onto the North East i'm sure. I cringe just watching the adverts! But it should be funny non the less, seeing as I went to school with one of the girls!

XOXO

DISCO

What I want more than anything in the world right now, is a pair of these babies! I've wanted these American Apparel Disco pants in black for sooo long but have never had the money to buy them, seeing as I've been living on a shoestring budget for the last year. This has also made me appreciate money a little more so I don't know if I could part with £70 for a pair (I am sure the price has gone up!!).
So I keep looking on ebay, with no luck so far. So if anyone spots a black pair in M or L, LET ME KNOW!

The Edge Of Glory

I'm on the ball with posts today, mainly because I am bored. I've decided to do an outfit post for both yesterday and today. I really liked what I wore yesterday but didn't have time to take a photo so I quickly took some today with that outfit before getting ready properly.

I am waiting (im)patiently for my cross tie like the one off Gossip Girl, but decided to try one out with ribbon aswell. The shirt is my 15 year old brothers, chuffed I fit into it! I did like this outfit but probably won't wear it again. Not until I can be bothered to buy my own shirt and my proper tie comes. Can't wait! So I am thinking of this outfit as a bit of a trial run, and safe to say it worked for me.

Anyhooo, this is what I am wearing to go over Neil's (the bf) tonight. A £3 H&M sale mini-dress and my Topshop leather jacket which I pretty much live in. Apologies for the terrible posing as well. It's clearly not a good day, plus I need to leave in half an hour so I 'aint got much time.

Also, how amazing was Gaga at The Big Weekend?! New found appreciation.

Let me know what you think, kiss kiss

xoxo gossip girl

No doubt a lot of you are obsessed with gossip girl as much as I am. Not only does the drama completely suck you in to the Upper East Side, the clothes are to die for! I don't think, out of the total of 88 episodes that I have watched, I haven't literally said out loud "I would do anything for that dress/jacket/heels etc etc" So I have put together a little mish-mash of my all time favourite outfits from the show.
This Oscar De La Renta gown was the one Blair wore in Paris. I could hardly breathe when I saw it and only wished that I was wearing it in Paris...

This dress was probably on par with the red one for being an all time favourite gown. Made by Jenny Packman, and just beautiful in every way. I love the contrasting blue beads and the long sleeves. Very unusual but stunning.

This was Blair's prom dress, and it only make me green with envy. Why couldn't I have worn this Marchesa dress to my prom?

This is a more 'casual' outfit that Serena wore while in Paris and I love the blue colour of these trousers and the gold sequin jacket.

This one takes me back to the first series when the girls were still in school and I loved the cross over ties they wore. I bought one off ebay a few days ago after toying with the idea for weeks. I'll do an outfit post when it arrives. I just think they look so cute and different.
Now I for one am not a fan of Vanessa Abrams anymore, she seems to mess too many things up. But I have always loved her style. Its really laid back, yet dressy at the same time. Such as wearing colourful, patterend shorts with heels while just going to get coffee. Something I wish I could get away with!

Another favorite Vanessa Abrams outfit. Flowery shorts with a vest and heels to make it both fun yet dressy.

But all I want to know is, how can anyone wear heels as much as they do? I wish I could last more than a few hours, never mind all day. I doubt I will ever understand anyone who can, despite being utterly jealous.
Anyway, I am probably going to be spending the rest of the day googling outfits from the series, and being totally envious. What a thrilling life I lead!

Bargain outfit.

So, I went out in Sunderland last night for the first time in about 4 months, and I haven't been missing out on much! A Leeds night out puts everything in perspective, and wipes the floor with everything else. It was still a good night though. It was a work night out which I got invited to, and I thought why not? My first payday in 8 months is a good as any excuse to go out and celebrate! Just a few pictures below of me and the girls. I'm pretty much hanging out today though, rough doesn't seem to cover it ha. Sunday lunch should sort me right out though!

I wore my yellow Primark dress, that's in a previous post where it's worn as a top. My blazer was a 99p bargain from ebay, and I got the clutch from an ASOS sale. Great budget outfit, which came together really well I think.
Well I'm going back to bed now to sort my head out, so I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day.
Love love xoxo

Freedom is Sweet.

Apologies for being a bit out of the loop with blogging lately. I have had 5 uni deadlines in the past week (I AM NOW FREE) and with starting my new job, I haven't had much time. I am enjoying my job at the minute, but I don't know how long that is going to last. I can imagine the novelty wearing off soon. BUT I have my first pay day in 8 months tomorrow, which I am sooo sooo excited for! And as you can imagine, I have already been trawling through topshop.com looking for things to spend my money on. I get paid weekly as well so this is going to be a regular occurrence. I am loving the Shanghai collection, it is pretty much exactly what I love. Floaty and floral. Perfect. There are so many things I'm wanting to buy at the moment, I don't know where to even start!

Here is a selection from my 'most wanted' list from Topshop,H&M, ASOS and also www.stylistpick.com, which  is an awesome website where you firstly do a questionnaire about your fashion preferences and then get emails with items of clothing that suit your style. I would highly recommend signing up.

Hope everyone has been keeping well, and until next time... xoxo

Primark shopping.

I took a trip to Newcastle yesterday to go shopping. I haven't been able to go clothes shopping probably since I started uni in September due to my lack of money. But as a celebration for finally getting a job, I decided to treat myself. Plus I have a bit extra cash now that I have moved home for the summer as I get my food paid for. Major bonus!
Anyway I bought a dress, skirt, shoes, sandals, nail varnish and some new foundation. The clothes and shoes were all from Primark and I only spend £40! Total bargain, considering they really do have some lovely clothes in at the moment. The weather is perfect today to wear my new clothes so below is what I bought. I am wearing the mustard dress as a top underneath the skirt as I love the two colours together!

The skirt is probably my favourite purchase. I am loving the midi lengths as the minute. I did buy a a midi skirt off ebay about a month ago but it was bright white and it just didn't seem to look right on me. Probably because I am so pale. So I got this navy one and it's great! Really light and floaty so perfect for warm weather, but also a great length for those who don't like showing a lot of flesh like myself.
These are the sandals I also bought. I was looking for a pair which didn't have a t-bar between the toes as I find them uncomfortable after a while, so when I saw these ones I just had to get them. Plus they were only £6!
I will do another post later in the week probably showing the other pair of shoes I bought, so watch this space!
Hope you've all had a great weekend! xoxo
